Welcome to the SICS Data Platform. Our data platform allows the exploration of major research studies conducted at SICS. We aim to serve the wider research community with knowledge representation and management.
At present, our data platform showcases the two main studies of SICS. You may explore the current available studies from below.
Growing Up in Singapore Towards healthy Outcomes (GUSTO) study is a major collaborative research effort involving partners across Singapore from healthcare and research alike. The purpose of GUSTO cohort study is to understand how conditions in pregnancy and early childhood influence the subsequent health and development of women and children. Over the course of 2009 and 2010, Singaporean women were enrolled in GUSTO, from a point in early pregnancy. The detailed observations and sampling on these mothers and children have been instrumental in discovering features more representative of the local and Asian population that can be used to improve the health and potential of our communities, with an earlier start.
Singapore PREconception Study of long-Term maternal and child Outcomes (S-PRESTO) study is a major collaborative research effort involving partners across Singapore from healthcare and research alike. The S-PRESTO cohort study investigates pre-pregnancy influences on maternal and child health. Over the course of 2015 and 2017, Singaporean women without fertility issues and intending to get pregnant were enrolled in S-PRESTO. S-PRESTO has the advantage to prospectively assess a wide array of potential determinants of future health outcomes in women from preconception to post-delivery and in their offspring across the earliest development from embryonic stages into early childhood.
